Orientation

WisdomSpace has deliberately adopted an informal structure in order to support its organic evolution. Its guidance is being provided today by the following core circle members.

Leslie Meehan (Founder, lead architect, co-host)

My story began in a small town in upstate New York, where I grew up

happily meandering and snow sledding in the pastures behind my house.

I hit the engineering highway through Stanford (MSEE) and Silicon Valley (Rolm & Acuson), with a couple round-the-world (de)tours along the way. Disenchanted with corporate life, I followed my heart's path to become an adoring mom, fervent chocoholic, community volunteer, and spiritual seeker. My journey today as an integral minister & philosophy doctoral student is to absorb what's really going with our species and our planet, and to bring my whole being's love and compassion and wisdom and pizzazz to my wisdom community healing practice.

David Nicol (Lead researcher, co-host)

http://www.gaiafield.net

For many years I have sought to integrate my personal spiritual journey to wholeness with a passionate desire to play a role in the collective global transformation that so many leaders recognize as the great possibility and challenge of our times. What has emerged as a focus is the concept and practice of "subtle activism" - how we may exert a subtle (but perhaps crucial) positive influence on the collective psyche through acting together on subtle planes of consciousness, such as collective meditation, prayer, or ritual work. I am working on a PhD dissertation at the California Institute of Integral Studies on the concept of subtle activism. I'm also the Director of the Gaiafield Project, which aims to link spiritual peacemakers around the world through internet communication and networking tools for regular, large-scale global meditation and prayer events. In my past life, I worked as an environmental lawyer in Australia, my native land. California has been my home base since 2000.

Brooks Cole (Lead technology/design wizard)

I live in Point Reyes Station, a town of 350 people just north of San Francisco in organic Marin County California with my sweetheart Suzie and our two twin cats, Prometheus and Persephone. I'm a media designer and information architect in the progressive and sustainability space. My company, HoloCosmos, creates beauty and user experience and branding for websites, online communities, web applications, and media channels for making change. I believe that a lot of our society's problems come from vision problems. Not problems with our eyes, but problems with our ability to see the truth - even when it is right in front of us - or when it is skillfully and deliberately hidden from our view. I believe most people and organizations would individually and collectively do the right thing if we could see what is really up.

I support WisdomSpace because of its gracious central vision that technology can help people connect and collect wisdom in order to solve problems and end suffering. We have the tools, we know the odds... it's showtime!
