WisdomSpace Library Orientation - Who Created It?WisdomSpace Library Orientation - Who Created It? Who Created WisdomSpace Library? Wisdom Library is a collaboration between a number of scholars and practitioners in integral approaches to community development who share a connection with the California Institute of Integral Studies (San Francisco, CA). The Wisdom Library is a work-in-progress being initially created by David Nicol and Leslie Meehan, friends and doctoral student colleagues conducting a two-year joint action research project to explore integral approaches to community development. This joint "Wisdom Systems" project between CIIS and Wisdom Mountain has involved both theoretical research and applied practice working with a small community in the Santa Cruz Mountains. We have initiated a number of action/reflection cycles in which we have experimented with various practices and theories. The WisdomSpace project and its Library have emerged from these explorations. Wisdom Library is not intended to be an exhaustive list; rather it is a selection of resources with which we either have had direct experience or feel a close affinity. We offer Wisdom Library as a starting point for a dialogue with pioneering community leaders, spiritual activists, and community development researchers and practitioners in order to develop an ever-more comprehensive resource center to support the field. We always welcome feedback and additions either by adding your comments at the bottom of each library page or by adding your thoughts to topic discussions in the community forums. |
